This year I am coordinating a new working group through the American University Humanities Lab. We meet once a month to read contemporary experimental poetry, and discuss the changes in reading practices and critical approach such poetry requires.
I am teaching a new class on the Beats, focusing on poetry, novels, and textual experiments, but also on the cultural, historical and political contexts of the post World War II era.
I presented a draft of my new article on Claudia Rankine's Citizen at the Literature Colloquium in November 2015. The article focuses on Rankine's formal strategies, her use of the prose poem, and her treatment of time.
